• 5. Introducing the resilience tool

    Let's make resilience thinking practical!

The resilience tool helps you to operationalise resilience thinking.
The resilience tool reminds you that, whatever change you want to achieve, you should:

    Understand, anticipate threats

Use and support capacities, to explore different resilience strategies

Understand the full picture and the complex pathways for change.

    resilience framework

Some of these issues have been already explored. For example, you are well aware of what
capacities are! Capacities are the engine of the tool. It is only when people have the capacities
to absorb, adapt, transform, that they will be motivated to anticipate threats and develop complex
pathways for change! Remember: capacities are what empower and mobilize people!

The next sessions will explore the other components of the tool. We will learn:

    • what to consider to better understand, anticipate threats.
    • what does complexity thinking involve, and how we can achieve resilience in practice.
