• Introduction

Religious literacy is the understanding that religious faith and religious actors play an important role in shaping and developing societies, and is the ability to relate to and work with, these ideas and actors.         It is also the awareness that religion and religious actors are important aspects of the "social landscape" we move about in, and to know these

actors and beable to navigate in this landscape. In addition to the general understanding,  SMC wants to present a contextual and practical dimension of religious literacy. SMC emphasizes the importance of Freedom of Religion and Belief in connection to all levels of religious literacy.
