1. WORKSHOP PPT AND FACILITATION GUIDE

This workshop template can be used to facilitate a workshop about localisation and to prompt conversations regarding what it means within your organisational setting. You are also most welcome to use videos from our video catalogue in your workshop.

Workshop PowerPoint

The power point is an example of how a whole-day workshop on localisation could be facilitated. It is mainly concerned with what localisation means, and how it looks like in practice. Two group work sessions are also incorporated in the format. Use this power point as inspiration or follow the slide-by-slide facilitation guide to replicate the workshop as presented in the power point.

Facilitation Guide

The facilitation guide provides slide-by-slide instructions to follow with the workshop power point. The guide can be used as inspiration or as a transcript for each slide.

2. GROUP WORK EXERCISE: DEFINING MEANINGFUL PARTNERSHIPS

Localisation is a complex process. It is a journey that takes a long time and requires mutual engagement, sacrifices, investment and true commitment from both local and international actors to change ways of working. This exercise is meant to help making the complex more concrete and understandable by defining what localisation means to you and how it is translated on the ground. The main goal is to start exploring how localisation can be enhanced in your context. It offers participants to discuss what meaningful partnerships are and plan how to address and improve relationship and trust building in your partnerships.

This tool asks you to reflect on and write down answers to six questions:

In a group you fill out the worksheet together. Discuss in the group for 25 minutes. Write down the group’s answers in the template below. The group finally brings their suggestions to the whole group for a plenum discussion.

3. HAND-OUTS

If you have an in-person workshop on the topic of localisation, you can print the following documents and hand out during the workshop.

Localisation Cheat Sheet

The localisation cheat sheet is a definition document presenting and explaining main concepts that are important to understand localisation. This document can be printed and handed out to workshop participants to use during the workshop, or in the end of a workshop to bring with them home.

Workshop Evaluation

Facilitators can print the workshop evaluation document to hand out to participants in the end of the workshop. This can help create a collected understanding of what participants have learned but also areas of improvement. The document can be edited so you can tailor the questions to suit what you want to evaluate.

Handout for charter4change endorsers

This handout is made by Charter4Change. It explains the initiative, how to endorse, and the possibilities of participating in C4C Endorsers discussion groups. C4C has right now has 39 international NGO signatories, and more than 510 national and local NGO Endorsers.
