INTRODUCTION
the black soldier fly
The black soldier fly (BSF) belongs to the Diptera order. It is originally native to the neotropics, but factors such as globalization and climatic changes have seen its worldwide distribution. It can now be found in tropical and warm temperate regions between latitudes 40 degrees south and 45 degrees north.
It undergoes complete metamorphosis with its immature stages having different physical features compared to the adult. An adult BSF can easily be confused with a wasp. However, unlike the wasp, BSF has only one pair of wings and does not sting, therefore posing no harm or danger.black soldier fly farming
