    • Congratulations on your admission to the Ajira Poa! Project. 

      Ajira Poa! Project is a job creation project for the youth. The project is tailored to equip you with the market-driven skills required to secure a job or start a business. You will be guided to identify your career path. Depending on the career you want to pursue, you will be linked to vocational training centers or other training pathways to acquire the necessary skills. You will then be connected to private sector employers for internships, apprenticeships, and jobs. For those seeking to start a business, you will be taken through enterprise development training and get support to start and grow your enterprises. You will also access soft skills in digital and financial education, life skills, entrepreneurship, and mentorship. 

      This learning hub has a list of all the trainings you need to acquire the necessary skills to set you on your path to prosperity.


    • Now that you have joined the program, you will undertake various mandatory soft skills training packages to prepare you for the world of work. Most of these training will be offered online on Fabo, the DCA eLearning platform. You will be supported by the center coordinators based in the three Counties (Nakuru, Nyandarua and West Pokot) to navigate the online materials. You will access these training packages from designated youth empowerment centers equipped with computer and internet access. You can also access the training materials from your personal computers or smartphones. 

      You will start with the digital literacy training, followed by career guidance, then after take the life skills training, followed by the financial literacy training then complete the soft skills training packages by taking the entrepreneurship skills training. More information on each of these trainings is provided below.

      Digital Literacy

      This module prepares the youth with navigation tips to various digital platforms and online learning materials. They also learn how to make use of social media and communication platforms, planning through online calendars, and the basics of internet search.

      Apana

      CAREER GUIDANCE 

      Before the youth start their employment pathways, they are guided to choose their career paths, based on their passion, strength, and current skills. The career guidance is offered by the College of Career Guidance and Development (CCGD)

      LIFE SKILLS

      This training is designed to help the youth to identify their strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats and develop an action plan to improve self.  the youth will also learn about good citizenship and how to relate with others.

      Financial literacy 

      In this training package, the youth learns different ways to make money, strategies to save and invest, how to increase their income, and protect their investments through insurance.

      This package guides the youth in evaluating their level of entrepreneurship skills and how to acquire and build them. They also map the assets necessary in pursuing your employment pathway.

    work readiness and employability training

    Youth seeking wage employment are taken through aspects of self-branding and self-marketing, interviewing skills, job applications, and job etiquette before they are matched for apprenticeship, internship, or a relevant job

    Enterprise Development Training 

    For the youth pursuing self-employment, they are taken through enterprise development training. This training helps them to a viable business idea and develop an actionable business plan. The training is delivered online or through face-to-face sessions.

    E-JOBS

    Youth seeking to work online are exposed to various types of online jobs, and get introduced to online job platforms. Depending on the type of online job they select, they are connected to an experienced person who trains them on the job and helps them sharpen their online job skills

    MENTORSHIP

    While the youth are pursuing their employment pathways, they are matched with mentors who suit their sector.  Both the mentors and mentees are prepared to become good mentors or mentees respectively through short online training to the mentee benefit maximumly from the mentorship
