    This blended learning course, hosted by SMC, builds the capacity of humanitarian professionals in the area of Monitoring Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). Learners will increase their understanding of MEAL, test their new knowledge through case-based scenarios, and enhance their ability to track the progress and impact of their projects.

    During the course you will take an online MEAL course, with the possibility to achieve an international MEAL certification,  at the same time that you are working with MEAL tools with support of our hosts.

    • ABOUT THE COURSE

      IN THIS COURSE PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN HOW TO:

      1. Design logic models that later become the foundations of meal in projects. These tools include the Theory of Change, results frameworks, and logical frameworks (logframes).

      2. Plan for MEAL using practical tools that include performance management plans, indicator performance tracking tables, summary evaluation tables, evaluation terms of reference, feedback-and-response mechanisms, 
      learning plans and communications plans.

      3. Collect meal data by using well-designed qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, appropriate sampling methods, and recommended data management practices.

      4.  Analyse meal data by using quantitative (descriptive and inferential) statistics and qualitative methods to analyse, interpret and visualize meal data.

      5.  Use meal data to inform project decisions, communicate with stakeholders and practice adaptive management.



      IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

      THE AUDIENCE OF THE MEAL DPRO INCLUDES:

      Non-Meal Specialists who would like to establish a solid foundation in internationally accepted MEAL concepts, terminology, tools and techniques; MEAL Specialists who would like an opportunity to solidify their knowledge of MEAL and establish a common language and culture of MEAL processes, tool and skills among their teams and project stakeholders. 

      As the assignments are designed to be group work, we encourage you to registrer 2 staff or more from the same organisation.

      To complete the online course should take you around 7-8 hours. Each module will take approximately 40-60 minutes. SMC will host 4 webinars, each one of take 1,5 hours, where the participants will recieve assignments between webinars to work with MEAL tools. Total investment of time:  22 h

      A certificate scroll with a rosette on it    WILL I GET A CERTIFICATE AT THE END?

      Yes, you will be able to download a certificate after you have completed all the online course modules. Learners that have submitted all their assignments to SMC and want to achieve a certified status, could take the official MEAL DPro exam ( MEAL DPro Certification here.) Learners who want to pass the certification exam will need to study the Guide to the MEAL DPro diligently and take practice exams. 

      Those participants that have:

      • successfully completed the online course
      • Sucessfully handed in group work assignments to SMC
      • Sucessfully passed the official MEAL DPro Practice exam
      ... can qualify to be sponsored by SMC to take the certification exam (80 USD).
