WHY FABO?
Fabo is a member-based learning network initiative that aims to empower tomorrow’s change makers, whether individuals or organisations, to participate responsibly and effectively in social change.
This empowerment comes from strengthening individual competences, cultivating peer-to-peer learning and supporting primarily civil society organisations (CSOs) with effective learning processes - including customizable learning resources, learning technology, learning design methodologies and cross-organisational collaboration.
The Fabo Initiative is initiated by ACT Alliance members in 2019. It emerged from the ACTLearn Partnership with the vision of broadening the learning collaboration to CSOs beyond ACT Alliance. The Fabo is hosted by the Danish NGO, DanChurchAid.

Principles
All Members of the Fabo Initiative are guided by the International Human Rights as an overall reference frame for societal change.
Fabo seeks to contribute to the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals
with special attention to goal 17 on global partnerships for sustainable development.
- Empower Change Makers
Empower Change Makers
In Fabo, we believe that CSOs can become more effective change makers if they utilize customised learning resources, learning technology, learning design methodologies and learning networks, because they can implement learning activities with higher quality and reach and make decisions and take actions based on enhanced competences.

Build and facilitate analogue, digital and blended learning activities.
Promote and cultivate communities of practice within and across Members.
Build a repository of open learning resources, templates and customisable, off-the-shelf courses that can easily be utilised in Member organisations.

Utilise the digital learning platform fabo.org, the Fabo app and other tools to facilitate and manage learning processes.

Facilitate a community of practice on learning and capacity development focusing on improving learning methodologies, including basic guidelines and performance support resources. Visit the Fabo Learning Community.
Support and promote innovative and learning organisations by advancing methodologies and learning strategies, cultivating communities of practice, exploring new technologies, and contributing to knowledge and research on organisational learning and capacity building.

Co-creation Space – develop shared learning content across members and contribute to the further development of Fabo. Visit "Fabo Creators" Community.
Access to the learning capacity within the Fabo Learning Lab with regards to learning design and development of learning content and activities, incl. video productions and interactive visual content. Potential support will depend on available capacity and coverage of costs.

Become a member
As a Fabo member your organisation will get its own digital space on the Fabo platform with an unlimited number of sites and users, access to core learning templates, and access to a network of CSOs with whom you can collaborate on learning projects and knowledge sharing.
In other words, Fabo is not just a very economic way for your organisation to get your own Learning Management System, it is also a unique possibility to be part of a global learning network for CSOs all around the world!
