  • About the Online HRBA training

    *Please note that the training has been postponed until later in the spring 2019*

    This online training on Gender Inclusive Human Rights-Based Development is a four week blended learning course offered by experts in the field. The course consists of on-demand online learning material and facilitated real-time online training sessions.

    The target group for this training is: 

    • Staff, with a responsibility for capacity building, HRBA or gender within your organisation
    • Project and Programme Staff interested in building their capacity on Gender Inclusive Human Rights Based approach

    The training will be interactive, using participatory methodologies and build upon participants' own knowledge and experiences. Exercises where participants will work in online groups, discuss their own work and use their experiences will be used throughout the course.

    The total hours you are  expected to spend as a participant will be around 30 hours out of which 16 hours will be online real time training.

    • Topics and Learning Objectives

      Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:

      1. Define key concepts in a gender-inclusive HRBA approach
      2. Explain the relationships between key concepts
      3. Apply knowledge of key concepts to scenarios and to their own programmes
      4. Identify vulnerabilities and challenges to application of a gender-inclusive HRBA
      5. Develop an accountability strategy and 2-year action plan on the basis of PANEL+

      Focus of the training will be on power analysis, causes for discrimination and intersectionality, human rights frameworks, social relations, accountability, PANEL principles, analysis from a human rights approach, dealing with resistance etc.

        Time: Times for the synchronous training will be finalized from a needs assessment, but all sessions should take place within the range of 9.30 and 12.30 CEST.

        • Practical Info and Registration

          Number of Participants: Min. 16 - participants will be selected by the organizers upon their registration. 

          Course Fee: EUR 1000.

          Terms of Registration: The registration is binding and subject to payment. In case of cancellations they will be subject to a full refund until 1 week before the training commences. Once beyond this deadline, the participant fee cannot be refunded.

          Software: Participation requires no software installation or technical prerequisites. However, all participants must have a computer and a headset available, as well as an internet connection with a speed of 200 kps-350 kps (check your available bandwidth here: and divide with the number of users on the same connection).

          Responsibilities: DCA Learning Lab bears full responsibility to ensure that the training is running and accessible according to the above outlined software demands. If anything should fail from our end, a full refund can be expected. However, if the participants are not ready to check in 30 minutes before the course commences and do not have a headset available and for those reasons do not get the full outcome of the training, no refund can be expected. An email with technical instructions will be shared in due course before the training, and all participants are expected to read and follow those instructions.
