    Learning site for course "Strategic Advocacy" (20/5 - 3/6 2026)

    • This is the learningsite for the course "Strategic Advocacy". As a participant you will be able to find all relevant materials, documents and exercises. 

      Log in on FABO: The site has open access, but you are welcome to create your own free Fabo-login. This will give access to other online elearning resources apart form this course. 

      At the end of the course you will:

      • know how to develop an advocacy plan and use advocacy more strategically in your project or program
      • be able to include advocacy goals and initiatives strategically in future applications for funding
      • be inspired from guest speakers and your peers on impactful approaches and tools when advocating for your cause
      • have a broader network of peers engaged in advocacy work, that you can draw on


      Course based on PARTNERSHIP: 

      The course targets Danish and local partners, who have already worked a little with advocacy, but want to strenghten the advocacy component of their joint project or programme. 

      NOTICE: To ensure mutual learning, it is mandatory to participate in with at least one person from the Danish partner and one person from the local partner.



    • Guide: An advocacy Toolkit

      We will use the guide "A n Advocacy Toolkit" which has been made by Plan International, A world at School and YAG (The Youth Advocy Group). 

      The guide is divided into an Introduction followed by three sections which follow the three key steps of a good advocacy intervention: 

      1. Analysis  (Understand it!)
      2. Design (Plan it!)
      3. Implement (Do it !)

      You will be expected to read throug the three sections one by one as preparation for each of the three session. Download them here:

    • How will the sessions be conducted: 

      Before each session you are expected to do a small exercise in the shared document for your group (see below for links). 

      The webinar sessions will be conducted:

      1. Introduction and brief refelction todays topic. 
      2. A case presentation focussing on how to dio action in relation to todays topic (Case from GDCA in Ghana)
      3. Presentation by CISU Key themes of todays topic.
      4. Breakout room were you will do a small exercisie within your partnership on todays topic. 
      5. Summing up and focus on your work exercise for next session. 


    • Groups/partnerships: 

      During the course you will be doing small exercises in a shared document. You are expectd to use your own case or ongoing project as your exampel in solving the exercises. 

      We hope you will have a useful document and the end of the course, which can be use to delvelop your curent advocacy work.
