    LEARNING OUTCOME:

    This session is mainly to prepare everybody for the course. 

    KEY APPROACHES:
    Firstly we will introduce CISUS approach to project design and some of the key approaches for a civil society approach to projects. 

    HOW TO GAIN THE MOST OF THE COURSE:
    Secondly we will make sure that everybody are comfortable with navigating the learning site, and you know the expectations for your home study between sessions.

    • Preparation before session 1: 

      a. Read Guide pp. 5 - 11

      b. Read the case Young in the City

      c. Present yourself in the forum

      d. Make sure you have the right technical setup (a stable internet connection, headphones for online session, access to computer/laptop with extra monitor). 

      e. (Optional) Make the quiz to prepare for session 1.

      2. Organise an online meeting in your group:
        • Agree on a specific project idea in your partnership you would   like to explore.
        • Use pp. 14-16 to be able to formulate your:

                     - Project Location
                     - Expected partners
                     -'Development issue' (main area of concern)
                     - People affected
                     - Sectors involved

      3.Submit your results to the forum (Click "Add a new topic").

    Learning outcomes: 

    During this session you will get to know the key elements of an effective project analysis, which is the first step in the project cyle., hereunder the context analysis, problem analysis and stakeholder analysis. 

    By the end of the session you will have knowledge of specific tools to use for the different steps of the analysis.

  • THURSDAY 7TH of November 2024   (10-12 AM CET)

    Learning outcomes: 

    During this session you will learn more about the design of a project. This will be based on the approaches Theory of Change and Result Frameworks. 

    By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of how to elaborate a pathway and how to use this in the formulation of a result framework.

      b. Read 'Part 2' in the guide (pp. 39 - 82)

      c. Optional: If you have any questions to 'Part 1', please write you question in the Q & A section

      d. Optional: Read the two 2-pagers on Theory of Change and Logical Framework

    • Home exercise #3

    • 1. In your group per partnership: Organise an online meeting, where you:

      • Discus the design phase and how the different tool may be useful for your project idea
      • Formulate the "desired change" (Impact) for your project. Use the project analysis as a starting point for your choice.
      • Continue with formulating a few preconditions for how the "desired change" can happen (minimum 2 preconditions)
      2. Individually: read pp. 83 to 103 of the project guide (step 3 'Inception phase').
    • Quiz after session #3

    • This QUIZ test you on the key processes of the "Design Phase". 

  • THURSDAY 14TH OF NOVEMBER 2024    (10 - 11:30 AM CET)


    Learning outcomes: 

    During this session you will be updated on the inception phase in project planning, hereunder the preparation of a monitoring plan. 

    By the end of the session you should have a clear idea about how to develop a new project within your partnership and defined the first steps on how to continue from here.
